Club Pistol Match

Here’s the script for a 600 Modified NRA Pistol Match: (FOLLOW ALL MATCH CALLER COMMANDS)
  • 10 rounds Slow Fire (at Caller’s command: fire 5 and reload 5 at will; 5 minutes elapsed time relay) .
  • Make the line safe (cylinders/ slides open, firearm on the bench, step back behind yellow line), go down line, score target.
  • 10 rounds Timed Fire (at Caller’s command: load 5, fire in 20 second relay; cease fire; load 5 on command, shoot on command, 20 second relay).
  • Make the line safe (cylinders/ slides open, firearm on the bench, step back behind yellow line), go down line, score target.
  • 10 rounds Rapid Fire (at Caller’s command: load 5, fire in 10 second relay; cease fire; on command, load 5, shoot on command, 10 second relay).
  • Make the line safe (cylinders/slides open, firearm on the bench, step back behind yellow line), go down line, score target.

Repeat ALL of the above for a total of 60 rounds fired.
Turn scorecard in to Scorer.

Alibis are allowed.

We award based on the scratch (actual tally) score and your running shooting average, computed monthly. The NRA supplies us a book that has computed handicap scores. We “divvy” up the fees collected, with 1st receiving 15%, 2nd gets 10%, 3rd gets $10 fee back.

Or you can elect to take home a trophy if you’d like.

Hope that helps! If you have any other questions let me know. We always have fun. The purpose is to keep up your shooting skills and promote safety and getting together monthly in a mildly competitive contest. And to congregate for some coffee and donuts.

Any excuse to shoot, actually!

Some months we alternate with a 300 match (30 rounds) and occasionally we shoot the popular 900 (90 round) match. We vote and consider the weather and time of year. The 300, 600, or 900 are repetition variations on the above format.
